Had a great date night!

So we got our third date night just us without the kiddos since Brody and Mason left the NICU and they are 10.5 months old! Woohoo. Derek's birthday is Saturday so we celebrated that a bit tonight too! We got pedicures.....yes, I have a manly man who doesn't mind and in fact loooooves them! Then dinner at Pei Wei Asian Restaurant, then dessert at Cheesecake Factory. I had them do the birthday set up to his piece, nooo singing he said though ha ha and I didn't have them embarrassed him I was a good wife! We had a great time. My friend Amanda and her boyfriend watched the kids and they all had fun. She said once they got home her boyfriend fell out asleep. Twins are hard work! You don't really know until you take care of them solo, you don't get the whole effect in visits where the parents are holding them etc.

Man both boys are really pulling up on everything, Mason was just on his crib, now it's boppies, bouncy seats, everything. Brody is cruising now around the coffee table over a week now. Unfortunately with added mobility is added head bumps. You can't baby proof the floor, although I wish! They boys are chasing each other now that they crawl the same speed and I catch them babbling to each other. That is the best part of having twins.

My Brainy Babies with Flash Cards

So I made some baby flash cards. Mackenzie and I worked on them together today. I just bought some plain index cards and wrote some things in big sharpie and glued pics on some. The sets I made are familiar things, picture of Myself, Derek, Sister, Bottle, Spoon, Feet, Hand. I flashed each card one second, then pics two and retold the names, held them out and said one of the cards, they pic the correct ones every single time. Brody was hyper and ready for bed, but still did it right on. I will add more to choose from, and then move on to my other sets. Numbers 1-10 and with dots on the back of them, A-Z, and Animals, their own names, and Yes, No. Also on all the ones with pictures, I have the words on back, and eventually move to them recognizing the words. I read about how babies are sponges and can learn at a rate adults just can't believe. I am a true believer. Mason was looking back and forth before he picked his concentrating lol, it was so cute. Mason is our little thinker and calmer baby. He's also into music. Loves Mackenzie playing her violin, and playing his tap a tune piano, but actually to a nice sound. Maybe he'll be our little piano man......I won't force anything onto him. And a tip, the flash cards shouldn't be forced, but used during playtime so it's fun. I totally recommend them. I'll keep an update on how they like them. Today was the first day.

I still can't believe how fast time is flying

So the boys ate dinner with us again like big boys. They had alfredo pasta and garlic bread. They loved it. Mason stood up today in his crib, so we have Brody who's cruising, walking along tables and such, and now Mason is pulling to stand. They both are crawling very well and love to play together.

Boys in NICU so little

To now so big and strong

They are advancing so well and I am so proud of them! Their 1st Birthday is September 12th, they left the NICU Oct 1, and their due date was Nov 7th. All those dates are just as special as their birthday and I will always celebrate and remember each. No we won't have three parties, just their actual Birthday, but it's something only a preemie Mom gets. You mourn your lost pregnancy time, and want to celebrate their birth and the fight they did in the NICU. If you have never seen a preemie in the NICU it's heartbreaking and amazing how strong someone so small is. They came home after 19 days and that was way sooner than the doctor's original predictions. I still can't believe they have been in our lives almost a year. Yeah for our little miracles! We tried to get pregnancy Sept 06- Feb 08 and all our treatsments paid off! We got out miracles and are so blesses. They grow each day more and more. Sometimes I wish I could freeze time b/c it's going to fast and they are turning into such handsome boys from the little peanuts in the NICU and that was listened too everynight on our home rented heartbeat doppler. Those little booms booms booms were heaven to hear......

Bad Migraine today....Mason cut two teeth and crawled

So I had the worst migraine today, it lasted 12 hours. I seriously wanted to die. I took every pain pill I had and phenergan to sleep it off. My super duper hubby and daughter took care of Brody and Mason for me, since I was not able to. I couldn't keep any food down until around 9 pm. I started feeling better and missed my babies and noticed Mason finally cut those two bottom teeth! Yeah!!!!! He also picked up the pace on his crawling. No longer an inch worm, he's full on crawling. Chasing Brody, coming to me, getting into EVERYTHING. Two babies mobile is a sight to see. I know Brody has been fast the past 1.5 months, and it's wore me out, now there is two to chase. Maybe this will help to shed some weight. I plan on going much slower than a silly fast. I want to slowly weed out the cokes and caffeine this week. Then cut back on my calories. The other day, I tried to go all H2O and Slim Fast and wanted to puke. One cannot cut caffeine, calories and sugar at once without feeling like crap. I have three kids, I don't have time to feel like crap when a simple Coke will make me feel better, still fat, but better lol. I have to get back into thinking and loving water and healthy food again. When you like it, it's not a diet, but a lifestyle. Did I just say that, I sound like a diet guru! I hear that a lot, but it's true, making it a lifestyle is the only way to make it work.

I am up late b/c I slept all day, so I hope to get some sleep some, I hear my hubby snoring on the couch downstairs hehehehe! There isn't much on TV so I may just read some more of Mommywood, my new book, so far it's pretty good.

Lemonade Fast ='s Gross!!!!!!

So I am trying out the Master Cleanse Fast. For anyone who isn't familiar, it's a fast of lemon juice, cayenne pepper, organic maple syrup, and water, that makes a lemonade like drink and you just drink that and only that for ten days, you can have water too. Well, I made a day's worth for myself and Derek, and let me tell you, it's pretty nasty. I am not sure if I put too much pepper in it but it burns going down! I will not make ten days, I will be proud to make 3-5, heck, I'll be proud to make all of today! Kudos for those who have successfully done this! After I get off this I will start eating healthy and I really want to get the 30 day Shred video and start doing it. I am super excited to begin this healthy lifestyle, but, not sure if that is going to include too many days of this Master Cleanse. My hubby is beyond grossed out. He keeps telling me, "What in the hell have I let you talk me into!?" Hey he was like, "I'll do it with you!" So it's on him. Well I will let everyone know how it goes. Hopefully in 6 months I can be at my goal weight. I have my fingers crossed and tongue burning from all the pepper!

UPDATE: I quit, I was sick to my stomach after the second glass. The pepper gave me heartburn, and made me feel like I wanted to puke. I do not recommend this fast for anyone, it's horrible.

Happy Birthday to me, and America!

My birthday was July 3rd, Friday, and I am the old age of 25. I had a great birthday. My daughter Mackenzie suggestion to my hubby that they fix me a birthday breakfast of pancakes and strawberries, it was awesome. I was given a spa package, flowers, cards, and two books I wanted to read, sTori Telling, and Mommywood, both by Tori Spelling. So far the first book is great! I also got a homemade gift from my daughter. The worst part of the day was my terrible migraine. The boys had their first sucker today too!

The fourth was great in the beginning. We went to the pool, where many people oohed and aahed at the boys b/c they kick and try to swim around like little fish. Brody always dunks himself and is a ham! Then we had some Brats and got ready to go downtown. There were storms moving through and we decided to go to the parking garage at a local hospital to get a good dry view of the fireworks. We then came home and took some adorable pics of the kids playing with flags. Brody pulled up on the crib to standing for the first time. He is getting more and more mobile everyday.

Tonight we are going to my best friend's house for dinner and to shoot off our fireworks, since we got rained out yesterday. Hope the boys are good and have some fun!
